What Causes Severe Shoulder Pain With Normal Blood Sugar Levels?
Hi, I am 27 yrs old. I have been experiencing left shoulder pain since past 5 days. I suspected this might be heart related and got an ECG which came out normal. The more I worry about the pain it is persistent. I am a smoker, I have low cholesterol from a test I took 5 months back. I have diabetes which is under control. Thanks
Hi, We need to know a little more about the pains is it deep in the shoulder or in the arm, does it arise from the neck and radiate down the limb and does the come on lifting the arm.can you lift the arm fully and rotate it to the back and back of the head? If you have pain on moving the shoulder and the range of movement is decreased the its a shoulder problem.Shoulder related pains can occur from neck conditions like disc herniation and deep muscle pains -fibromyalgia and of course heart related ( which you have ruled out) and rarely due to upper abdominal conditions. an X ray usually does not reveal anything wrong( except calcium deposits along the tendon). An Ultrasound or an MRI will be more specific. Deep heat and shoulder exercises along with NSAIDS (diclofenac ) for now and investigations if not better.
